OUR STORY
Preserving History &
Embracing Community
New Orleans For Lincoln Beach was founded in
2020 by Sage Micheal and led by Tricia Wallace, President of NOFLB. The work on the beach started as a mass cleaning of trash by
hundreds of volunteers from the community of
New Orleans East under their leadership.

OUR VISION
Restore and sustain Lincoln Beach as a community-centered coastal destination that honors its history, uplifts cultural heritage, and models ecotourism for New Orleans.
OUR MISSION
To preserve Lincoln Beach as a safe, accessible, and environmentally resilient public space by establishing strong governance, developing community-driven programming, and protecting the site from overdevelopment.

OUR ORIGIN
RAISING AWARENESS &
CELEBRATING HERITAGE
Lincoln Beach was established in the late 1930s, creating a safe space for the Black community
to congregate freely and enjoy life along Lake Pontchartrain. It was later developed in the 1950s into a full-blown amusement park, and the beach was also used to host a variety of events, ranging from beauty pageants and diving competitions to concerts by local artists and national superstars.
